Major Stephen Cromwell served with Gunpowder Battalion, Baltimore County Militia, Maryland Militia during the American Revolution.

Stephen Cromwell is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A027992.

Stephen was a son of Joseph Cromwell and Comfort Dorsey. He married Elizabeth Walters Murray. Stephen passed away in 1783.

Stephen wrote his will on 30 March 1783; it was proved in Baltimore County, Maryland on 21 May 1783. The will names wife Elizabeth and children Joseph, Richard, Stephen, Oliver, John, Nathan, Philip, and Ruth.[1]
