Richard was born October 13th, 1837.[1] He fought in the civil war along with the union, he was enlisted December 2nd, 1861.[2][3] Within three years from then, Richard married Loretta Jane Hatfield October 18th, 1864 in St. Joseph, Indiana.[4] He died August 9th, 1952 in Iowa.[1]

From unsourced Ancestry trees, Richard's father may have been William Crone, from Germany. And mother Elizabeth Hurst from Pennsylvania born 1799, and died 1866.
