"Mrs. George Spring died, after a lingering illness, at the family residence on Sunday at 11:45 p.m. Deceased had been ill for nine months with bronchial catarrh. Mrs. Spring’s married name was Dalphin Cronk. She was born in Frankford on July 3, 1867, and was married to George Spring on July 1, 1883, by Rev. Mr. Mallory at the Deseronto Methodist church. She had lived in Deseronto since her youth. Those who are left to mourn her loss are her husband and four children – Frank, William, Hugh and Edward. There are also three brothers living in town. The funeral on Tuesday afternoon was largely attended, members of the Citizen’s Band and also of Court Deseronto, I.O.F., Deseronto Lodge, I.O.O.7; Albert Orange Lodge and United Empire, S.O. E., turning out to attend the obsequies. The interment was at Huffman’s cemetery, Napanee. The pallbearers were: G.E. Snider, Jos. Haggerty, Jas. Sexsmith, Robert Brooker, William Stuart and William Brooker. Mrs. Spring was well and favorably known in Deseronto and had hosts of friends, who sympathize with the family in this bereavement."[1]
