Biography

Abraham Cronk was born in Red Mills, New York. The family of this name were among the early Dutch Settlers of Westchester county, and are probably descended from Siebert (aka Sibert) Cronk, Cronk-690 the first of the name which appears. ^[1]

Abram married Billecha Wixson, a daughter of Robert and Nancy Wixson, and resided in Carmel New York. Children of Abram Cronk & Billecha Wixson include:

• Adolphus J. Cronk, born October 22, 1827, died March 21, 1832, age 4, and is buried in The Old Baptist Burying Ground, in Carmel, Putnam County, New York. ^[2]

• Mary Cronk, married Henry J. Pierce.

• Tamar Cronk, b. 14 Sep 1831; married Isaac D. Barrett

• Susan E. Cronk, b. 22 July 1833; d. 16 Feb 1872 unmarried

• Hannah J. Cronk, born in 1837, married Frederick J. Wardell

• Joseph A. Cronk, b. 3 Oct 1841; d. 14 Aug 1866 unmarried

Abraham died April 26, 1871, at the age of 75 and is buried in the Ballard-Barrett Cemetery, also known as he Old Baptist Burying Ground, Mahopac Falls Baptist Church Cemetery, and Red Mills Baptist Church Cemetery. ^[3]
