Biography

Franklin was born in 1812, most likely in Bethel, Maine. He was the son of Jesse Cross and Lydia Twitchell.[1]

He was married to Lucy Ann Coffin on June 12, 1834, in Bethel, Maine.[2] They lived in Albany, Maine.[1] Their children included:[3]

  • Wellington R., born March 24, 1835
  • Franklin R., born May 20, 1836
  • Jesse Alfonzo, born May 15, 1837
  • Roland Alanson, born October 25, 1838
  • Sidney Turner, born March 9, 1841
  • Thirza L., born December 6, 1842; died May 15, 1843
  • Henry Augustus, born May 1, 1844[4]
  • Albert Leonidas, born December 2, 1846[5]
  • Caroline Lucretia, born March 12, 1847[6]
  • Alcander Herman Bean, born October 21, 1848[7]
  • Lucy Ann, born June 27, 1850[8]
  • Edwina L., born about 1856[9]

Franklin died on November 15, 1889, in Albany, Maine.[10] His son, Wellington R. Cross, of Milltown, New Brunswick, Canada, visited Bethel on his return from his father's funeral.[11]
