Biography

John Cross was born in 1729 in Talbott, Maryland. He was the son of John Cross (1700-1764) and Dinah Lane Tracy Cross (1695-1729).

John married Barbara Borer (1754-1813). Barbara was the daughter of Jacob Borer (1728-1778) and Barbara Tschudi Borer (1732-1784). This couple had 10 children: Rebecca Cross (1786-1847), Andrew J. Cross (1789-), Rachel Cross (1792-), Joseph Cross (1794-1875), Mary Ann Cross (1797-1869), John Hoy Cross (1799-1880), Barton Howerton Cross (1801-1882), Delilah Judy Ann Cross (1802-1880), Louisa Amelia Cross (1803-) and Christina Cross (1803-1884).

Rebecca married William Bennett (1783-1855), and they had 6 children. Joseph married Mary Moore or Westfall (1795-1842), and they had 7 children. Mary Ann married Joseph Moore Sr. (1797-1867), and they had 10 children. John married Nancy Ann Pittman (1808-1880), and they had 7 children. Barton married Deborah Ann Moore (1804-1850), and they had 14 children. Barton's 2nd wife was Mary Ann Polly Delauder (1822-1882), and they had 1 child. Delilah married James Coberly (1796-1860), and they had 3 children. Louisa married James L. Montgomery. Christina married George Washington Harris (1800-1873), and they had 13 children. John and Barbara had at least 61 grandchildren.

John Cross died in 1810 at Randolph, Charlotte, Va, USA. Now this would be West Virginia.
