FORT WORTH - Lavella Cross Terry, a homemaker, former PBX operator and longtime Fort Worth resident, died Tuesday at a Lubbock hospital after a short illness. She was 82.

Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. today at Shannon North Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Mrs. Terry was born in Fort Worth and lived here until three months ago, when she moved to Lubbock. She was a former PBX operator at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Mrs. Terry was a member of Riverside Christian Church. She was a 50-year member of the Northside Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.She was the widow of R.A. Terry.

Survivors: Son, John Warren of Lubbock; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
