Elijah CROSS' Bible was found in a smokehouse in Westport, Carroll Co., TN. The husband of the woman who found it is a member of the family.
From the History of Hardeman Co., TN pg 146: "On 5-29-1825, Elijah CROSS, Willie BOYD and John PARKER met in the home of Ransom KING to organize the Baptist Church of Christ [in Hardeman Co., TN]. In September Elijah CROSS was chosen moderator of the Western District Association. He attended Hopewell Church which had 122 members. By Sept. of the next year, Elijah had moved his membership to the Forked Deer Association. There were no further records of Elijah until he died in Hardeman County in late 1832."

Elijah was born about 1795. He passed away in 1833.
Named Rhoda Cross as wife. Carroll County Census provides birth date and birth location of Rhoda.
