Horace was born in 1850,the son of Robert Cross and Eliza Dow. In 1871, he was a Medical student living with his parents. He joined the Royal Navy on 31 Mar 1877. He is listed as a Fleet Surgeon on 3 Sept 1892 and Deputy Inspector General of the Navy on 9 Sep 1899. [1] In 1897, he married Florence Mary Peacock-Edwards in Malta [2]. Horace died at Tangley Park in Worplesdon, Surrey, in 1909.[3]
