Biography

Catherine was born in 1848.

In 1861, at age 13, Catherine is living with her parents, and siblings Andrew age 7, Margaret age 9, Lewis age 5, and Peter age 1, at 82 John street, in the district of Bridgeton, Parish of Glasgow Calton, in Lanarkshire, Glasgow.

In 1871, at the age of 23, she is newly married to James, and they are living at 48 South Coburg St Backland B, in the district of Tradeston, Lanarkshire, Glasgow. John, a brother of James is boarding with them. Catherine is expecting their first child at the time of the April census, and Jessie/Janet is born in October.

In 1881, Catherine, age 32, and her husband James age 34, and their children Jessie (Janet) age 9, John age 5, Catherine age 3, and Agnes age 2, are living at 289 London Road, in the district of Camlachie, Parish of Glasgow Barony, in Lanarkshire, Glasgow.

In 1891, Catherine and James, and their children, Janet age 19, Maggie age 17, John age 15, Catherine age 13, Agnes age 11, Lauis/Lewis age 9, Euphemia age 7 and James age 5 are living at 175 Hospital street, in the district of Gorbals, Parish of Glasgow Govan, in Lanarkshire, Glasgow.

In 1901, Catherine age 52, her husband James age 55, and their children John age 25, Catherine age 23, Agnes age 22, Lewis age 19, Euphemia age 17 and James age 15 are living at 114 Hospital Street, in the district of Gorbals, Parish of Glasgow Govan, in Lanarkshire, Glasgow. They have a boarder, Catherine Rodger, age 26.

Catherine dies in 1917, at 167 Renfrew Road, Glasgow. Her former residence was 87 Carstairs Street. The informant is her son John Urie, an Engineer's Machinest of 50 Batson Street, Glasgow.
