Annie was born on 20 August 1903 at Oldham, Lancashire, the daughter of William Thomas Crossman and Florence Dronsfield. Annie had a twin brother named Thomas.
In the 1911 census Annie was living with her mother at 52 Milne St, Chadderton. She was aged 7 and attending school. Her father, an auctioneer, was away from home working.
Annie's parents separated and her father remarried in 1932.
The 1939 Register, taken on 29 September 1939, has been described as a snapshot of the civilian population of England and Wales just after the outbreak of the Second World War. The Register recorded each person's address, date of birth and occupation.
At that time Annie was living with her mother and several younger siblings at 731 Middleton Road, Chadderton. Born 20 August 1903, Annie was aged 36 and working as a chronic nurse.
Annie Crossman married Thomas Jones [Marriage Jun Qtr 1948/Middleton 10e 1143].
Annie Jones died aged 78 years [Death Mar Qtr 1982/Rhuddlan, Wales 24 0731 – DOB 20 Aug 1903].
