Plymouth Colony and Massachusetts

  • From John Maltby:
Joseph Crossman 3rd, a twin, born on 5 Sept. 1718 in Easton,[2] married:
1.) Mary Cary, his first cousin, daughter of Deacon Recompense and Mary (Crossman) Cary, of Bridgewater,[3] on 18 Feb. 1747 in Bridgewater.[4] She was born on 22 Feb. 1726 in Bridgewater,[5] a granddaughter of Jonathan and Sarah (Allen) Cary,[6] and of Joseph3 and Sarah (Alden) Crossman.[7]
She died by 1756, and he remarried to:
2.) Margaret Turner, daughter of William and Eleanor (Whitman) Turner,[8] on 26 Feb. 1756 in Bridgewater.[9] She was a twin, born on 12 June 1722 in Bridgewater.[10]

He supposedly also died on 9 Feb. 1775 in Easton, the same date his father died.

He had 2 more children by Margaret Turner:
  • Daniel Crossman, born on 2 May 1757 in Easton, married Alice Brett, of Bridgewater, possibly daughter of John and Alice (Cady) Brett, on 4 June 1778 in Easton. She was a twin, a granddaughter of Elihu and Susanna (Edson) (Hayward) Brett Jr.
  • Sarah Crossman, born on 18 May 1760 in Easton, possibly the Sarah Crossman who married Thomas Robbins, of Boston, on 27 Nov. 1788 in Easton.
