Hello! I may have the answer to the question you posed on profile Armstrong-2128. Let me know what you think. Lynden
Hi Jill,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, here are a few more features you may find useful:

  • If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
  • Unfortunately, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving these situations.

If you have questions, feel free to post them on my profile page or send me a private message.

Hi Jill, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned researching ancestors in Scotland and Ireland. I wanted to let you know we have two great projects that focus on Scottish Clans and Irish Roots here called Scottish Clans Project and Irish Roots Project They might be places for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree. Lots of hints, links etc for researching on pages of both projects.

You may find some of your ancestors are already on WikiTree and the people in both Projects will be happy to help you in any way they can. Thank you so much for joining WikiTree.

Good luck with your research.

Welcome Jeanne,

Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree.

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

Everything on WikiTree is a collaborative work in progress so don’t forget to read and sign our Honor Code. This is what keeps WikiTree a friendly and helpful community. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Happy Hunting,

I am not a genealogist but I am interested in expanding my family tree for my own interest and for my children. I have a lot of records passed down in my family. I can't guarantee their accuracy, except the ones I have checked on various sites seem to be accurate. I am very interested in finding the family members that lived in Scotland and Ireland before emigrating.
Hello Jeanne,

Welcome to WikiTree!

We're growing a FREE worldwide family tree, striving for ONE collaborative profile for every person.

A couple suggestions to get you started:

Our Honor Code is a very important part of why our community is such a friendly place to grow your family tree so please take some time to read it.

Feel free to ask a question at our G2G forum, found in the upper right of the screen, under the My WikiTree tab.

Our help pages, also top right, have all sorts of useful information.

If you would like to contribute by adding information, click the volunteer button and leave a comment here on your profile to let our greeters know.

You should include a little bit about how you plan to contribute to the tree.

Happy Hunting,
