James Ebeneezer Crossman was born December 20, 1880 in Saint John, New Brunswick to Joshua Crossman (born New Brunswick) and Margaret McCorley(or McCurdy) (born New Brunswick). At the age of 33 he came to Nova Scotia and settled in Moosebrook, Hants County, Nova Scotia. He was a Farmer. He married Elizabeth Ellen Hill. James died in Moosebrook of complications from influenza/pneumonia at the age of 52 years, 3 months, 11 days on April 1, 1932. Death informant was his wife and he was buried in Moosebrook.
