James was born in 1670. He was the son of Richard Crossman and Susanna Kinsman.

He was baptised 21 Oct 1670 in Stratton [1].

In 1684 he was a beneficiary in the will of Christian Kinsman and was also named as her executor (despite then being only 14 years old):

Item: all the rest of my goods and chattels not formerly given nor bequeathed I do hereby give and bequeath unto James Crossman the son of Richard Crossman and Nicholas Ching the son of Elizabeth Ching whom I do nominate and appoint to be my whole and sole executors of this my last Will and Testament

He died and was buried in Stratton 9 Oct 1696 [2]
