She was preceded in death by her husband Albert and a son, Lloyd Gassen.

Edith leaves to treasure her memory her son, Richard Gassen and wife Carol Lenexa; daughter, Charlene Wilson and husband Don, Hopkins, South Carolina; son Tom Gassen and wife Joyce, Topeka; son Michael Gassen, Topeka; 5 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or Alzheimer's Association and sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS, 66614.
