Florence (Crouch) Roach is a part of US Black heritage.

Florence was enumerated with her parents in the 1880 Census for Precinct 2, Houston County, Texas. Houston County is adjacent to Cherokee County.

James (father) and Emily (mother) were living in 1880 in Precinct 2, Houston, Texas. Their children at that time were Florence, age 5, b. Texas, Samuel, age 3, b. Texas and an unnamed son age 5 months b Texas. James was a laborer. His race was recorded as mulatto.[1]

She married Humphrey M. Miller 5 June 1897 in Cherokee County, Texas. The marriage record is on p. 332.[2]

Humphrey Miller and Florence were living in Dallas in 1900. Humphrey was b Dec 1872 in Texas, age 27. They had been married 3 years. Florence was age 26 b Nov 1873 in Texas. Their son Rufus was age 6, b. Dec 1893 in Texas. With them was "step-son" Jacob Crouch (Florence's brother?) b March 1892, age 8.[3]

Florence was a widow, age 36, living in Dallas in 1910 with her children Jacob Miller, age 19, b. Texas and Juanita Miller, age 9, b. Texas. [4]

The death certificate of Florence Roach, who died 11 May 1957 in Kaufman, Texas, was signed by informant Robert Roach. Her parents were identified as James Crouch and Emily Easily. The birth date, however, is 23 Nov 1887.[5]
