Biography

Elizabeth (Crouch) Simmons was a South Carolinian.

Elizabeth was born on July 26th, 1839 to Robert Crouch and Margaret Ann Rebecca Cox in the Barnwell District, South Carolina.^[1] When she was a child, her family moved to Charleston, SC where her father worked as a farmer until his death from typhoid in 1854.^[2]

Elizabeth Crouch married George H Simmons on December 10th, 1857. They had 9 children together. ^[3]

She passed away on November 24th, 1904 at the home of her son, Mr. F. M. Simmons, in Bamberg, South Carolina after an illness of a few days. ^[4][5]
