Biography

From "Remembering Shoal Creek, Blaine - New Blaine, Harkey's Valley etc"  : Walter W. "Shorty" Crow (18815-1958), son of W. R. Crow, married Girtie Allen (1889 - 1990), daughter of T.A. Allen, February 16, 1908. They were married in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Sellars by Mr. Sellars, who was a Justice of the Peace. Their attendants were N.E. Crow and Myrtle Allen, brother of the groom and sister of the bride. Myrtle (1893 - 1928) alter married N.E. (1890 - 1936). Walter and Girtie were the parents of three children: Windle: (1908 - 1928), an infant whe died at birth in 1910, and Prue (1913 - 1969). They had a foster son, Joe. Windel married Agnes Myrtle Marshall (1907 0 1972), daughter of Maude and Marvin Marshall and they had a daughter, Windlene (b. 1929). Prue married Homer Jones (1913 - `943). Homer died at sea in World War II.

Walter's nephew, Joe Crow lost both parents when he was still a child. Joe was reared by his Aunt Girtie and Uncle Walter Crow. Girtie was his mother's sister and Walter was his father's brother. Joe treated his Aunt Girtie (who lived to 103 years old) as any son would. (written by Peggy, Girtie Crow's great great niece)
