Biography

Alford M. Crow, son of William Thompson Crow [Crow-1173] and Nancy Elizabeth Blackwell [Blackwell-1308] served in the 37th Georgia Infantry, Co F "Franklin Rangers". Enlisted: Mar 4, 1862 Transferred to Co F: May 6, 1863. Killed in Battle of Missionary Ridge, TN on Nov 25, 1863. [Wife, Elizabeth (Phillips) Crow died in 1862]

(Brother) Joel Carlyle (Crow-1139) ("J.C. Crow") also in 37th Georgia Infantry, Co F. Enlisted: May 10, 1862 Transferred same day May 6, 1863 to Co F. Wounded at Missionary Ridge Nov 25, 1863. "Wounded in hand, necessitating amputation of three fingers."

(Cousin) Thomas J.Crow, son of Randolph C. Crow (Crow-1145) and Elizabeth Sewell. Also 37th Georgia Infantry, Co F. Enlisted same day as Alford, Mar 4, 1862. Transferred same day as both to CoF, May 6, 1863. Wounded at Peachtree Creek on Jul 20, 1864, "...amputation of third finger." ["Born in Ga. Jun 10, 1844. Died at Carnesville, Ga on Mar 8, 1925."] Became doctor (MD) after war.

(1st Cousin) A.M. Crow Elisted same day as "J.C. Crow" May 10, 1862. "Appears only on bounty payroll for June 1, 1862." I believe this is (1st Cousin) Alfred Milton Crow (son of Jonathan Wilson and Martha (Fenn) Crow)
