He was educated by Mr Cashin of Limerick and entered Trinity College Dublin on 6 June 1710, aged (around)17. B.A. 1714, M.A. 1718. [2]
He was Prebendary of Kilquane (Clonfert) from 1721 to 1741. In 1741 he resigned and became Sacrist. A sacrist [sacristan] is an officer charged with care of the sacristy, the church, and their contents. He was collated on 11 May 1741 as Sacrist of Clonfert. (ff.) In 1745 he resigned, and was appointed on 23 April (ff.) as Archdeacon of Clonfert. Within six months he resigned, and was made Dean.
He was presented as Dean of Clonfert on 9 August 1745 [Lib. Mun.], and was instituted on 16th August. (ff.) He resigned in 1766.
