Biography

David Crowley was born c. 1880 in Greenock, Scotland. He died by suicide c. 1935 in Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Son of Michael Crowley (1845-1929) and Susan Henderson Carson (1845-1908).

Uncle Davey immigrated to the US from Glasgow, Scotland in 1928 at age 48, arriving in Boston, Massachusetts onboard the ship "Cameronia."

David ran a fish shop and sold fish and chips. He never married and had no children. David had black hair, and was called "Uncle Davey." Jeanie (Chabant) Lyle hated him.

David was a fishmonger most of his life. He committed suicide in the Fish Market on Broadway in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He is supposed to have molested a young girl, and as a result of being discovered, killed himself. He had put his head in the gas oven. His body was held on the 2nd floor of Granny's house (according to Susan Crowley). It can be surmised that he must have lived with her prior to his death. David had attempted suicide once before.
