Private John Crozier was a Labour in Dronmore Tyrone joined the 100th reg 13/02/1805. [1][2]
one of 11 soldiers from Tyrone[2] , granted land in Goulbourn by the Land petitions Board in lieu of pension ,after war of 1812.[1] All 11 knew each other and settlers who they likely encouraged to immigrate. These included Rev. David Evans (Presbyterian), John McKee/McCoy and others. Took Lot 22W, Con. 7[1] next to John McCoy and later sold to John's son James McCoy[3]. Census of 1842 has John Crozier listed as a Presbyterian.
These 11 soldiers ,Private, McFadden-2094, McCaslin-523, Wilson-62283, Smith-185175, Quin-449, Mullin-1377, McQuaide-41, Devin-107, Burns-11125, Boyle-3132, Crozier-1013 All came from County Tyrone served in the 99th reg. and certainly knew each other. Census of 1842 list half as Presbyterian. After the war they took land in Goulbourn and a group of settlers from Tyrone immigrates in 1842 likely encouraged by these soldiers (see Glenn Lucas Thesis Presbyterianism in Carleton County), led by Rev. David Evans, John McKee/McCoy and at least eight other families.
