[1] Don grew up in Delbarton WV, and went to Burch High School. After graduating he went to United Electronics Institute, under a 2 year program, to acquire an Associates Degree in Electronic Theory and Practice. Don was a Mining Engineering Technician for Island Creek Coal Co., from 1974 to 1979, then with Massey Coal Co. for 29 Years, whence he retired to take care of his ailing wife, in 2008. He was married to Carol June (Hunt) Crum (Hunt-6003) for 38 years. Carol passed away on Dec. 23, 2014. He had two Sons with Carol, Don II (Crum-486), and Jonathan (Crum-350). Don was also engaged to Jo Sharon Owens(Cheatem-1) Aug. 16, 2015, however was unable to wed due to Mrs. Owens untimely death, July 22, 2016. He watches over her twin Daughters, Hannah(Owens-5898) and Rachel(Owens-4497), as well as Jo's ailing/aged father, Daniel Mattox(Mattox-460).

My late wife was a descendant of Devil Anse Hatfield. My Grandfather had a store that sold goods/staples to the Hatfield Family, one of the only stores that would do business to both Hatfield and McCoy Families.
Interesting Ancestory for this side of the Family.
My Grandfather's given name, changed to Hindy after arrival to USA, at the age of 13. Left home at the age of 8, traveled 9 countries, learned 5 other languages besides the Hebrew and Arabic he already knew. It was a joy to know Him.
My Grandfather, of whom I am so Proud. one of my many Mentors.
Added Oct 22, 2017. Hugh III (Bigod) le Bigod was my 26th GrandFather. I am a GGrandson (23, 24, 25, and 26th) of 11 other Surety Barons, as well.
Several people in my Family have served in the military and I honor them.

My Father served in the army, attaining the Rank of Staff Sargent, Who was in the Battle of the Bulge, under a mistaken Identity, and later finished his tour of Duty in Marseilles, France.
