Thomas "Jeff" was born in 1882 in Paulding County, Georgia. As a result of Y-DNA testing of two of TJC's grandsons (37 marker) and one great grandson (111 marker), there is believed to be a high degree of probability that Thomas Jefferson Crumpton (1882-1967) descends paternally through the Womack line. These tests have been compared to several Womack descendants, the closest of which has a '0 Genetic Distance' (in a 37 marker test) from the two TJC grandsons, and a 1 step distance with the great grandson. I am the great grandson, and the genetic distance I have with the tested Womack is the same genetic distance I have with both my father and uncle.
It also happens that TJC's mother was married to the brother of my suspected Womack's wife - they were in-laws.
It has been stated that "We just received a response from our request to the Social Security Administration for the record of Thomas Jefferson Crumpton b June 16, 1888. They sent us a copy of what looks like an application for benefits. It is brief with not much information on it, but it does have the following:
f John Crumpton m Amanda Jones
Dallas Georgia
**UPDATE 09-22-12** I am in possession of the SS Application, and it does in fact list father as John Crumpton, mother as Amanda Jones.
