Isaac Crump was born on 1 August 1821 in Lower Portland, New South Wales, Australia [1], the son of Thomas Crumpton and Sarah Rowe and his half siblings were James Purvey and Richard Purvey, Mary Yardley, Edward Hewitson and Sarah Hewitson, (Richard Purvey?) and William Purvey (Hewitson?), Elizabeth Crumpton, Ann Crumpton, Thomas Crumpton, Ellen (Crumpton) Duffell, John Thomas Crumpton, Mary Ann (Crumpton) Byrnes, Hannah Crumpton, Sarah (Crumpton) Izzard, Martha (Crumpton) Copland, Harriet (Crumpton) Grant and Rachel (Crumpton) Shattel.
When his father married Eleanor Robinson in 1827, Isaac was aged 6 years, then, when still only 12 years old, his mother died in 1833, but it is not known who he lived with from that time, as there is no mention of him living with his father and family, or being in Tasmania during the time they lived there from 1833 to about 1842. At the time of Isaac's marriage in 1841, Thomas and Eleanor were still living in Tasmania.
In the 1825 Census, Isaac was living with his mother, Sarah, & stepfather, John Purvey and three siblings, James Purvey, Mary Purvey/Yardley, and Richard (Purvey) ?Hewitson[2], then in the 1828 Census , Isaac (7) was living in the household of Edward Hewitson and his mother Sarah (Perry [sic]), so it may be, that after her death he remained living with Edward and his siblings[3].
Isaac married Phillis Craft on 5 November 1841 in Brisbane Waters, New South Wales, Australia[4] and they were the parents of Sarah (Crump) Reynolds, Phillis (Crump) Knee, despite what is written her, Phillis not the daughter of Isaac Crump and Phillis Craft. A check of NSW BDM will show she was born in in 1843 the same year as Sarah Crump. While there is no birthplace, that Crump family are well documented in Maitland and no relation to Isaac Crump. Matilda (Crump) Ferguson, Ann R. Crump, Francis Isaac Crump, Susanna Crump, Mary Ann Crump, Jane (Crump) Willis, Elizabeth Crump, William Joseph Crump and Benjamin C. Crump.
Isaac's father, Thomas Jr. Crumpton, died aged 77 years on 9 November 1874 at Hawkesbury River New South Wales, Australia.
Isaac died on 11 July 1896 in Wollombi, New South Wales, Australia[5] and was buried at the Wollombi Cemetery, Wollombi, New South Wales, Australia[6][7].[8].
