Biography

George was born about 1795 in Virginia.[1] He was the son of John Crunk and Millie Blakemore. In 1820 he is in Sumner Co., TN, and he is all by myself on the census.[2] Between 1820 and 1824, he moves to Marshall Co., TN, where he is listed on the 1824 TN Tax List.[3] He seems to disappear after that.

Notes

There are two more George W. Crunks that are younger, one born about 1822, the other about 1824. There is a page missing in the 1840 Census of Marshall Co. that is not photographed in Ancestry and Family Search. Both John William and George W. are listed on this page, but have no record with either one, just the name! The 1850 Selected Federal Non-Population Schedule has a George W. Crunk in Marshall Co., TN, but he seems to be one of the younger ones, according to items listed on the schedule.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with George by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with George:
