Biography

When Hannah "Hanner" Crutchfield / Sentichfield / Critchfield was born on May 17, 1789, in Warren, North Carolina, her father, John Crutchfield, was 29, and her mother, Providence Whitehead Crutchfield, was 19. Her birth year is also the year that North Carolina citizens voted to become a State in America. [1][2] [3]

MARRIAGE Hannah Crutchfield married George Treece (1780-1840). Bond was set on March 6, 1810, in Surry, North Carolina. [4] [5]

They had five known children (discussed in more detail on her husband George's page).

The Night the Stars Fell In 1833 Hannah "Hanner" Crutchfield / Sentichfield / Critchfield was living in Tennessee where they may have witnessed one of the most spectacular meteor showers in history on “the night the stars fell.”

Death of Husband George Treece who passed away on January 16, 1840, in Grainger, Tennessee, at the age of 59. They had been married 29 years.

1850 Death of Mother Phoebe Crutchfield who died in Claiborne County, Tennessee, at the age of 80.

1850 Census for Claiborne, TN Subdivision 7: Hannah lived in Claiborne, TN in 1850 with her Daughter Caroline's family. [8]
