In 1900, Pedro Cruz, age 14, lived in Huerfano, Colorado, with his father Nicolas Cruz, age 35, a coal miner; and with his mother, Deluvina Cruz, age 28; and with Pedro's sister, Genoveva Cruz, age 8; and with Pedro's nephew, Benino Cruz, age 5.[4]
Marriage
Pedro Cruz married Felicitas Callegos on 11 Jul 1885 in Huerfano County, Colorado, USA.[5]
Residence
In 1921, Pete Cruz, age 35, a coal miner for the C.F. &I. Co., stated on his employment application form that he lived with "Felicitas "his wife and one son," on Lester Street in Ideal, Huerfano, Colorado. But the record shows that they never had any children of their own.[6][7]
In 1930, Pete Cruz, age 42 and single; a farm laborer, lived in Weldona, Morgan, Colorado, with his wife, Felicitas Cruz, age 39; in the home of Pete's brother-in-law, Mike Gallegos, age 48, also a farm laborer; and his son, Joe Gallegos.[8]
In 1940, Pedro Cruz, age 56, worked as a beet farmer and lived with the Joe Abel Cruz family in Weldona, Morgan, Colorado. Joe Abel Cruz, age 33, who worked in road construction for the W.P.A, was Pedro's nephew. Joe's family included; his wife, Rose Cruz, age 25; and their children: Genoveva Cruz, age 5, and Susie Cruz, age 3; along with Joe's half-brother, Andy Archuleta, age 19, who also worked as a beet farmer.[9]
In 1942, Pedro Cruz, age 57, Weldona, Morgan, Colorado, presumably still lived with Abel Cruz and his family, and listed Abel Cruz as "the name and address of person who will always know his address" on his World War II Draft registration card.[10]
Death
Jose Pedro Cruz died 25 Jun 1963 (aged 77) in Huerfano County, Colorado, and he was interred at Saint Marys North Cemetery, Walsenburg, Huerfano County, Colorado, USA.[11]
