Biography

Thomas was born about 1796 in Louisiana.[1]

He was the son of William Cryer and Elizabeth Honor.[2]

Thomas married wife Ailcey/Elsey[1][3] and had the following known children:

  1. Francis Cryer was born in Mississippi about 1827.[1]
  2. Emanuel H. Cryer was born in Mississippi about 1828.[1]
  3. Wade Cryer was born in Mississippi about 1834.[1]
  4. Marshall A. Cryer was born in Mississippi about 1836.[1]
  5. Henry L. Cryer was born in Mississippi about 1838.[1]
  6. Lucinda Catherine[4] Cryer was born in Mississippi about 1840.[1][3]
  7. Frances "Fanny" Cryer was born in Mississippi about 1842.[1][3]
  8. William S. Cryer was born in Missisippi about 1844.[1][3]

Thomas Cryer was a soldier in the War of 1812, at the age of 16, on picket duty at Lake Pontchartrain at the Battle of New Orleans. He moved to Rankin County, Mississippi, abt. 1828, where he and his family lived until abt. 1845, when they moved to Tyler County, Texas.[5]

Thomas died sometime prior to 1860 probably in Texas.[3]
