Biography

Colin Henry Cudmore was born on December 24, 1893 in McMurrich Township, Parry Sound, Ontario to John Thomas Cudmore (Cudmore-427) and Janet (Stewart) Cudmore. (Stewart-45201)

On January January 14, 1923 Colin Cudmore and Vera Hill applied for a marriage license in Huntsville, Muskoka, Ontario.

Colin married Catharine Vera Hill on January 14, 1924 in Huntsville, Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada. This marriage was registered ands stamped on January 18, 1924.

The marriage was performed by J.K. Law of Huntsville and witnessed by Helen Jean Cudmore and Marguerite J. Marshall, both from Sprucedale, Ontario.

Colin and Vera had one son.

Colin passed away in 1995 and was buried in Parry Sound after a Masonic funeral.

Research Notes

Under: "Canada, Ontario Marriages, 1869-1927", there are several different wedding dates. 1) The first states January 14, 1923. (When viewing the Original Document , I find this to be the Province Of Ontario, application for the Wedding License.)

2) The second states January 14, 1924. (This shows their parents, the witnesses, and the minister, J. K. Law, from Huntsville. It also shows the License # 014690 having been registered and Officially Stamped on January 18, 1924. Was this a long engagement or was the date on 1) supposed to be January 14, 1924, which seems to make more sense.

I believe after researching all sources that their was just one Colin H. (Henry) Cudmore (Cudmore-432), not as listed in familyseach.org. with two brothers a year apart with wives with similar names and parents. There was only one Catharine Vera Hill born to that family as shown by the sources.
