Father Christopher Kolb
Mother Marie Catherine Leise
Christian was the fourth-born of Christopher and Marie Catherine.
Christian married Barbara Rummel who was raised at the Rummel farm at East Cavalry Field about three miles east of Gettysburg.
It was at the Rummel farm that the Union cavalry stopped Jeb Stuart’s Confederate cavalry from gaining the Hanover Road and attacking Union wagon trains during the Pickett-Pettigrew-Trimble Charge.
Christian and Barbara lived at 151 York Street in a house purchased from James and Mary Gettys in 1795.
Christian was a wheelwright and also a member of the local fire company. His leather brigade fire bucket is on display at the Adams County Historical Society. [1]
