Biography
Eliza was born in 1853. [1] She came to NZ with her husband George, aboard the Lady Jocelyn in 1875. George ran a carting business in Akaroa. In 1887 they moved to a farm in Linton, Manawatu, where they raised their family of nine sons and a daughter. After her husband died in 1911, and a few years after that her 18-year old son also passed away, Eliza moved to Auckland. She passed away there in 1937 age 84 [2]
