Biography

My grandfather [Culver-958- Mark Ward Culver] told me that his older sister's dress caught on fire from the bonfire while they were at a school outing. She panicked and ran and he tackled her rolling with her to extinguish the flames but she died of the burns three weeks later. Her mother and grandfather, Dr. John McCue tended her and her death devastated Mark's mother. John told Frank to move away from the state to give her a new beginning and the family moved to North Dakota where Frank was a stone mason building the bridges and Miriam was the midwife.
