Ova, son of Cal Cundiff and Mollie Wallace, died in 1936 in Jackson, Breathitt, Kentucky.[3] [4] ' Obituary' Ova Cundiff, 42, son of Cal Cundiff of this county, died Tuesday morning from gun shot wounds inflicted at Campton, Monday. He was rushed to the Bach Hospital here and an emergency operation performed and a blood transfusion given in an effort to save his life, but he lived only a few hours.
Following the shooting, Taylor Graham of Wolfe County was arrested and placed in the jail at Campton. A murder charge is placed against him. The shooting is said to have taken place on the streets of Campton, Monday when the two men met.
Mr. Cundiff was married and lived on Stillwater. He was born and reared in this county. Surviving are his widow and one son, his father Cal Cundiff of War Creek; three brothers, Beech Cundiff, of this city; Guy Cundiff of Ohio; and Carl Cundiff, of Oakdale; and one sister.
The body was removed to the undertaking establishment of W.E. Blake and later to his home in Wolfe County where funeral services were held Wednesday.[5]
