Biography

Mary married William Eicher about 1843. Very late in life they had an adventure and moved to California, where some of their children lived. Only 3 were surviving at that time. Sadly they both passed away shortly after arriving. She passed away shortly before her husband, and is buried in the Old Oroville Cemetery in Oroville, Butte County, California. ^[1]

From Findagrave: Connellsville Daily Courier April 24, 1903: Emigrated in Old Age. William Eicher, the oldest citizen of Upper Turkeyfoot township, near Confluence, and his good wife departed this week for California, where they go to make their home. Mr. Eicher is in his 86th year, and his wife is but a few years behind him, yet they have migrated to that far off state to make their new home. The strangest thing is that this aged couple had lived upon the place they sold ever since they were married, something over a half a century. They sold their farm to D.H. Hensel, and he has rented it to Walter Snyder, who will occupy it.

In the administration of William Eicher's will, it says his wife is deceased. Those papers are dated 12 Sept 1903. Saw on findagrave she died 3 Jun 1903 and he died on the 28th June that year. See information on the will & heirs on his profile.
