Agnes (Cupples) Galloway was born in Scotland.

Agnes Barr Cupples was born in the parish of Slamannan on 9 October 1884 and was the eldest daughter of Robert Cupples and Margaret Jeffrey.^[1]

On the 1891 census, Agnes, aged 6 years, is living at 2 Westfield Cottage, Airdrie, with her parents and siblings: Robert (5 years), William (3 years) and Alex (1 year).^[2]

On the 1901 census, Agnes, aged 16 years, is living in Westfield Cottage, Airdrie, with her parents and siblings: Robert (15 years), William (13 years), Alexander (11 years), Catherine (9 years), Helen (7 years), Jane (5 years) and Georgina (1 year). ^[3]
