Biography

Edith was born in 1902.[1][2]

In 1925 she married George Gladstone Aylett. The local newspaper recorded Marriages. Aylett-Cure. On February 21 1925, at St George's Church, Burnie, by the Rev W G Thomas, George G, second son of Mr and Mrs Edward Aylett, Cooee, to Edith M, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs William Cure, Waratah.[3]

She passed away in 1975.[4][5]

Her will states This is the last will and testament of me Edith Mary Aylett the wife of George Gladstone Aylett of No 21 Pioneer Avenue, New Norfolk, Tasmania retired police officer. I revoke all prior Wills and testamentary writings and declare this to be my last Will and Testament. Provided that my said husband shall survive me for the space of forty eight hours then I give devise and bequeath all my estate both real and personal unto and to the use of my said husband for his own use and benefit absolutely and in such case I appoint my said husband to be Trustee and Executor of this my Will. In default of my said husband surviving me for the space of forty eight hours as aforesaid then I appoint my daughter Beverley Margaret Curtis of No 5 Sunhaven Avenue, Geilston Bay in Tasmania secretary, Carol Margaret Curtis of No 5 Sunhaven Avenue, Geilston Bay aforesaid schoolmistress and John Edward Beresford of No 4 Pottery Road, Lenah Valley in Tasmania lecturer in Electrical Engineering at the University of Tasmania (hereinafter called My Trustees) to be Trustees and Executors hereof and I appoint my Trustees to be Trustees for the purposes of The Settled Land Acts. I give devise and bequeath all my estates both real and personal unto and to the use of my Trustees upon trust to sell and convert the same into money and to stand possessed of the net proceeds thereof and of my ready money after payment thereout of my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses upon trust. To pay my granddaughter the said Carol Margaret Curtis the sum of one thousand five hundred dollars. To pay my granddaughter Merryl Edith Curis the sum of one thousand five hundred dollars. To pay my daughter the said Beverley Margaret Curtis the balance of my said estate for her own use and benefit absolutely.
