Emma was born in 1915. She was the daughter of Charles Curl and Rosa Farrier.
She married Alva Russell Hampton, 30 March 1933, in Washington, Iowa. Together they had the following children:
Emma passed away 17 Aug 2003 (aged 87), in La Fontaine, Wabash County, Indiana, and is buried in Gardens of Memory, Huntington, Huntington County, Indiana, USA, Plot: Garden of Hymns.

Mrs. Hampton was a homemaker. She was a member of Saint Bernard Catholic Church and the Women of the Moose of Wabash.
She had lived the past eight years at Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center in La Fontaine.
She is survived by three sons, Jack C. (Eloris) Hampton of Wabash, Floyd Albert (Lynda) Hampton of Goshen, and Edward J. (Kristi) Hampton of Wabash; a daughter, Alice (Elmer) Sanders of Wabash; 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
