Biography

On his marriage application, Michael claimed he was born on 25 October 1874, in Ireland.[1] The 1900 census reports his birthdate as October 1873.[2]

On 30 April 1896, he married Delia Kilcommons, probably in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. He was living in Oliver Mills, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, and was a laborer. She was living in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, and was a domestic. [1] They apparently had these children:[2][3]

William Curley (1896-)
John Joseph Curley (1898-)
Sarah Curley (ca 1901-)
Michael Joseph Curley (1909-1965)

In 1900, Michael and Delia were living with their children and a boarder, on Chestnut Street, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Michael was a day laborer. He had been out of work for four months. [2]

In 1910, Michael and Delia were living with their children at 144 South Walnut Street, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Michael was a railroad inspector. [3]

On 6 April 1931, he was pronounced dead in Germantown Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He died of a fractured skull. He lived at the Whosoever Gospel Mission. The police held two people as material witnesses. On 9 April, he was buried, in Belvue Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. [4] [5] [6]

Hi James,

It is a requirement on WikiTree that profiles of those born over 150 years ago (like this one) have an Open privacy, to help with collaboration. If you could please amend this from its current privacy of Public, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Feargal (Data Doctor)

Done. Thanks for the nudge. I also added the marriage information.

Hi! I'm a data doctor, working error 802 (empty profile). Giving sources is best, so that other people can see why you've chosen the dates and places you have. Also, every profile is required to have Biography and Sources sections (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Biographies#Required:_Biography_and_Sources).

I looked up some sources for Michael, I'll place them below as a sample. BTW, if I found the right death certificate, he died on 6 April , and was buried on 9 April. Perhaps I have the wrong death certificate--but that's the kind of question that providing sources can help avoid.

If you have any questions, please ask. I'm happy to help if I can.

Harry

Thank you for your work. I use WeRelate as my main on-line tree. I should put a link somewhere in the profile to direct people there.

I understand. Keeping up with multiple sites is very time consuming.

If you change the privacy control to 'open', other people could also edit the profile. Perhaps someone will even find something you haven't! You can change the privacy control by clicking on the lock in the upper right corner. For your information, profiles of people born more than 150 years ago are required to be open (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Privacy#Open), which is of course coming soon for this profile.

I have changed the privacy setting for all of my profiles to Public. Thanks for letting me know abut it.

Thank you.

Would you be okay with my adding the sources I found and writing a brief biography based on them? Of course, if I do that and you want to change anything, or to ask me to change anything, that would be fine.

Thanks! And thanks for opening other profiles. I've added the sources I found, and wrote a brief narrative biography based on them. Of course, you should change whatever you want (and add other sources you have). If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.
