Sydney Curnow was born on 29 April 1889 in Paignton, Devon, England, the son of Emma Boudy (Chegwin Willoughby) Curnow and John Goyne Curnow.[citation needed]
He married Marion Daisy Cooksley in 1920 in Victoria, Australia.[1] Their children were:[citation needed]
Sydney died on 8 May 1954 in Radfontein, Gauteng, South Africa, aged 65 years.[citation needed]

His wife Daisy died on 5.03.1928, about 11 months after the birth of his son Bevan Goyne Curnow.
Shortly after the death of his wife, Sydney boarded a ship to South Africa leaving his 3 children in Australia. They were all placed in foster care.
It is believed Sydney later re-married in South Africa and started another family.
