He was an 1820 Settler in Willson's Party on 'La Belle Alliance'.

Lt. Walter CURRIE, R.N. (Purser) of WILLSON's party on Belle Alliance, wife Ann, son Walter, 1 and Ann Mary 4. He was Resident Magistrate at Bathurst in 1824 and after the Sixth Frontier War, 1835, was appointed Government Agent with the Xhosas. His wife, Ann, was the daughter of John LOWE of Greenwich. They were married in Jersey. Walter CURRIE Esquire of the Royal Navy and Anne LOWE of the parish of Grouville were married on the fifth day of August 1814 in St.Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands
