The ship, Fairsea set sail from England on 6 August 1958 with the CURRIE family among the "Assisted Passage Migration Scheme" passengers and arrived in the following Australia ports, Fremantle, Western Australia on Sep 2, Melbourne, Victoria on Sep 7 and Sydney, New South Wales on Sep 11[1]. The CURRIE family, appeared to have disembarked at Melbourne and consisted of parents, Leslie Albert (age 53) and Sarah Jane (49) and their children, Veda (14), Eric (11) and Lana (9).
In the 1970s, Veda worked for Crawford Productions as P.A. to Ian Jones (Director of Homicide and other television series).[2]
She passed away in 2008 and was buried in the Neerim Cemetery, Victoria on 17 December 2008[3][4]
