As of the 1930 census John's family a few miles to Boone Township, Columbia County, Arkansas where John's father was employed as a foreman at a lumber mill. The family was Joe, Jewel, Elsie, John, and Joe's older brother Jim Curry. [3]
As of the 1940 census John's sister Elise had flown the nest and his family had moved back to Cleveland Township, Columbia County, Arkansas where John's father was again operating a farm. [4]
John died on 25 January 1951 in Minden, Webster Parish, Louisiana, and was buried with others of his extended family in the Mount Prospect Cemetery, Cleveland Township, Columbia County, Arkansas. [5][1]
Research Note: No record was found indicating that John had married or had children, nor how or why he died in Minden, Louisiana.
