Her Gossip (Godparent) was Maria CURTIS (an aunt through marriage).

She was listed as a "catechism child" in an 1828 list of Marnhull Roman Catholics.

In 1984 Gwen Stretch, her great granddaughter related that she had heard that Caroline used to walk to Winterborne Whitechurch from Hartgrove and back in a day, when aged in her 70's. This was in order to visit relatives. Presumably she was accompanied by someone, probably by one or both of the grandsons who lived with her in the early years of her widowhood. It is estimated that this would have been about 10 hours of walking in the course of a day.

In 1891 she lived at Lower Hartgrove, with her 2 grandsons, Arthur Ralph, and James Isaac. She was in receipt of parish relief.

Cause of death: Senile decay. Registered by Emily Ann Rideout, her daughter, who was present at the death.

She died 8 days before Queen Victoria.

Buried 19 Jan 1901. P/Ch, Fontmell Magna, Dorset, England.
