He was a minor at the time and T. M. Maddox was appointed guardian to receive the inheritance. Listed in Petit Juriors 4-21-1880. Signed "Resolution of Respect for Ex. Confederate Veteran--Death of Mr. R. F. Mason, member of the Association of Ex. Confederates, formerly a member of Co. D 2nd Ky. Inf. CSA" 981897 "The Graves Co. Ex-Confederate Assn. met Sat. and elected the following officers.....Ex.Committee, J. T. George, J. L. Dismukes, T. M. Curtis, W. T. Sims, and B. F. Brand. Another meeting will be held Sat. Sept. 25th to arrange for the Graves Co. and Calloway Co. reunion at Coldwater on Oct. 15th.". 112/1898--" Capt. Tapley M. Curtis died Saturday morning at Farmington after an illness of several months of consumption. His age was about 60 years. His burial took place Sunday at Farmington Cemetery and was attended by a large conccourse of people. He left a widow, but no children to mourn his death Capt Curtis was one of the best known and most popular citizens of the county whee he has lived many years. He has been for the past 10 or 12 years a citizen of Mayfield and served the county eight years as jailor making a very popular officer . During the war he was in the confederate army and made a brave and fearless soldier. At time of his death was a member of Confederate Association of Graves Co." 9-14-1907 "On a motion of J. M Duncan assessor of Graves County Kentucky ordered that T. M. Curtis be and he is hereby appointed Deputy assessor of Graves County Kentucky. Thereupon said Curtis was duly qualified as said deputy by taking the oath required by the Constitution and Statutes of the State of Kentucky" T. M.
