Wilfred and Ethel were married on April 12, 1905 in Kingston, Ontario. He was 25 and she was 19 years old. Ethel was his first wife's younger sister. Bessie had passed away just months after their marriage. They named their second daughter in her honour.[5]
In 1911[6] she was Methodist and living in Leeds, Ontario.
She passed away on February 16, 1934[7] and is buried in Gananoque, Ontario.
