On the 1850 U.S. Census for Monroe, Waldo, Maine, we find David Curtis 58 yrs. old and a farmer. His wife Jane was 57 yrs. old. On;ly two of their children were at home: Eliza 18 yrs. old and Nelson 14 yrs. old.
On the 1860 U.S. Census for Monroe, Waldo, Maine, David at 69 yrs. old and his wife Susan at 65 yrs. old and living with their son Benson Curtis, 29 yrs. old and a farmer. Benson's wife Elizabeth was 24 yrs. old.[7]
David Benjamin Curtis died on 14 Dec 1863 in Monroe, Waldo, Maine and is buried at Mount Solitude Cemetery, Monroe, Waldo, Maine.[8][9][10]
