Biography

Thankful Curtis, daughter of Thomas Curtis and Thankful Crandall, was born on 28 June 1785 in Rhode Island. [1]

Thankful was wed to John Dodge Crandall on 7 July 1804 in Westerly, Washington county, Rhode Island. Thankful and John had eleven children:

  1. John Dodge Crandall, born 27 Feb 1806 in Stephentown, Rensselaer, NY, wed Marvel Scriven;
  2. Seraph Crandall, b. 19 Nov 1807, wed to Elijah Shaw;
  3. ROSINA ROXY CRANDALL, b. 18 Aug 1809, wed to Samuel Peckham;
  4. Ephraim Crandall, b. 21 May 1811, wed Lydia Babcock;
  5. Charlotte Crandall, b. 20 Mar 1813, wed to Harvey Abbott;
  6. Huldah Crandall, b. 20 Mar 1815, wed to Jacob Young;
  7. Ebenezer Crandall, b. 11 Sep 1817, d. unmarried 1853;
  8. Sylvia Crandall, b. 19 Nov 1819, wed to Samuel Curtis;
