Biography

John Curtis immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

John Curtis was born in England. He was a son of Richarden (Unknown) Chambers and her first(?) husband, Thomas Curtis. The family emigrated to New England by 1638, settling at Scituate in the Plymouth Colony.

John Curtis died on 17 November 1679, apparently without issue. In the division of his property, his brother Thomas Curtis of York, Maine, received a double share and single shares went to Richard Curtis, William Curtis, and Elizabeth Bumpas, the wife of Jacob Bumpas.[1][2]
